A recent article supported by the H2020 BRIDGE-BS<\/b> project, titled “High microplastic pollution in marine sediments associated with urbanised areas along the SW Bulgarian Black Sea coast”<\/b> sheds light on the levels of microplastics in marine sediments along the urbanized southwestern coastline of Bulgaria.<\/p>

Authored by experts from the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research – BAS<\/b>, the study aims to provide baseline data on microplastic (MP) concentrations in beach and seabed sediments of the SW Black Sea coast, and to identify possible sources of MP pollution in the area.<\/p>

The article is published in Marine Pollution Bulletin<\/b>, a journal focusing on the sustainable use of marine resources and the documentation and analysis of marine pollution. This significant research advances our understanding of marine pollution patterns in the Black Sea and highlights the urgent need for mitigation strategies to combat microplastic contamination in the region.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
