On 16-18th of October 2023, the European Marine Science Educators’ Association (EMSEA) Annual Conference, taking place as part of BRIDGE-BS in Batumi, was in full swing, featuring fascinating presentations on the Black Sea Literacy Network, Blue Schools, sustainable blue economy, and much more.

In the first day of the Conference, after having an informative introduction about the BRIDGE-BS, attendees could have a chance to get a deep dive into Black Sea Young Ambassadors‘ active participation in ocean literacy and science communication practices within the BRIDGE-BS framework.

Following an exciting 2nd day focused on citizen science, ocean sustainability, diving adventures, and immersive touristic experiences, participants examined Black Sea Literacy deeper during an engaging workshop.

The Conference concluded with newly forged networks, exchanges of ideas, and productive discussions that will continue to bear fruit in the days to come.
