On 1 July 2025, the BRIDGE-BS Policy Workshop for the “2030 Blue Roadmap for the Black Sea” was successfully held in Athens, Greece, organised by the BRIDGE-BS partners, International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) in collaboration with CETMAR.
The “2030 Blue Roadmap for the Black Sea” is a key strategic output developed through a co-creation process within BRIDGE-BS. It aims to guide exploitation actions and policy measures that support a sustainable and resilient Blue Economy in the region, building on the scientific, technological, and societal results of the project.
The workshop brought together BRIDGE-BS partners and Black Sea national and regional policy stakeholders to review and refine the draft roadmap, ensuring its alignment with real-world policy needs and requirements. Ms. Georgia Chantzi (ICBSS) opened the workshop by presenting the project’s major results across its three key points; Black Sea multi-stressors, innovation in the blue economy, and society-policy engagement, while Ms. María Pérez (CETMAR) facilitated an interactive session with participants to review the proposed exploitation actions of the draft Blue Roadmap.
Consolidated version of the “2030 Blue Roadmap for the Black Sea” will be published in November 2025, marking a significant milestone in translating scientific knowledge into actionable policy pathways for sustainable blue growth in the Black Sea region.
