The primary objective of the Summer School is to equip participants with the skills necessary to analyse and interpret numerical model results effectively. By the end of the course, participants will have a solid understanding of: – Ocean and climate computational modelling – Downscaling and data assimilation techniques – Practical applications of data analysis in environmental studies, renewable energy, and climate change Moreover, the programme offers a unique platform to connect with ocean professionals from across the Atlantic, fostering collaboration and networking within the AAORIA framework. The Summer School is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No. 101158065, ensuring that there are no costs or fees associated with participation.

From the 7th to the 11th of October 2024, ICES will hold a course on "Integrated Stock Assessment Using Stock Synthesis (SS3)" at the ICES Headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. This course will cover fisheries stock assessment principles and instruction on using the Stock Synthesis (SS3) modelling platform. The course requires in-person participation. The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) invites to a workshop on participatory modelling from 7–11 October 2024 at the ICES Headquarters, Copenhagen, Denmark. The postdoc candidate will join and interact with a team of young dynamic researchers studying phytoplankton remote sensing and ecology at Nantes University. The work will be done in collaboration with plankton ecologists from other labs in France. PLASTMed will be the first edition of “CRIMAC Summer School” and will take place from the 22nd to the 25th of October, at the Research Centre and Marine Advanced Infrastructures in Calabria, Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, in Amendolara (CS).
