Magnus Group is the organiser of the “4th Edition of World Aquaculture and Fisheries Conference” (WAC 2024) which is going to take place during June 24-26, 2024 as a Hybrid Event having both online and in-person versions at Paris, France. The congress will be centred on the theme “Revolutionizing Aquaculture and Fisheries: A Novel Outlook.” WAC conference was established as a knowledge-sharing platform to highlight the possibility and distinctiveness of small-scale artisanal fisheries and aquaculture, as well as the advantage that can be gained by fostering collaborations and cooperation with fish farmers and workers, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Institut Français pour l’Exploitation de la Mer (IFREMER) is looking for a highly motivated researcher to kick off his/her PhD journey on an exciting project co-hosted by Université de Bretagne Occidentale (France) & University of Tasmania (Australia). Applicants will have the possibility to choose among the three innovative projects proposed for the position "Extracting Essential Ocean Variables for benthic habitats and fishes from existing, mature protocols" (DC60). The University of Bergen (UiB) invites talented researchers to apply for 3 Shaping European Research Leaders for Marine Sustainability (SEAS) fellowships: marine natural product chemistry, informatics and climate & early human development in South Africa – all with an overarching theme of marine sustainability. Successful candidates will be employed in 3-year fixed-term full-time SEAS postdoctoral research fellow positions at UiB.

The Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies in Portugal (CESAM) is involved in the 2024 Doctoral INPhINIT fellowships programme, funded by the "La Caixa" Foundation. Currently a total of 10 projects are available under the scope of the INPhINIT programme at CESAM. This programme supports talent and promotes research at the best universities and research centres in Spain and Portugal. CESAM is one of the host institutions of the INPhINIT Incoming Doctoral fellowships in Portugal. To apply for a Doctoral INPhINIT fellowship for a CESAM project, candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Portugal for more than twelve months in the three years immediately preceding the closing date of the call. Candidates must also have an advanced level of English (B2 or higher).

The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) is inviting participants to their training programme with the objective of providing training in social science research methods for natural scientists. They aim to equip participants with the skills set to be better able to work effectively with stakeholders in (cooperative) research projects, as well as having a better appreciation of the strengths and application of the social sciences in fisheries research.
